How to Feed and Play with Your Pet from iPhone: 3 Ways
1Bringing a new pet into your life can be a great experience. You need to take care of your pet, make sure it gets all its shots, and eats right. What if you are away from your pet for a while? Wouldn’t it be nice if you could interact with your pet from your iOS device? Here are 3 ways to do just that:
PetCube: lets you stay closer to your pet. You can talk, watch, and player laser games with your friends. It has a low intensity laser pointer, microphone/speakers, and a wide angle camera.
Pintofeed: this pet feeder serves food to your pet and can be controlled using an Android or iOS device. It has a backup battery for emergencies. It sends notifications about feeding times.
Feed and Go: a cool device that lets you feed and watch your pets from anywhere. You can record food time calling in your own voice. It works for wet and dry foods.
These gadgets let you interact with your pet and even feed it when you are away. Just bring your iPhone, and you are set.
Good first attempt at a remote-controlled feeder. Unfortunately it won’t work for me. For medical reasons, my cats are fed canned food exclusively. Maybe version 2.0 can dispense pre-set amounts of wet food from refrigerated compartments inside the feeder. Mind you, the dish would also have to be self-cleaning as you couldn’t just continue to dump new food in on top of the old partially-eaten stuff.
No, I’m not really seeing the automated thing. I think my cats are going to continue to require human intervention to meet their feeding needs. Automated solutions will most likely be available to serve only the simplest and most basic of feeding needs.
