Apple announced a whole host of new products today, including new iPads, Apple Watches and iPhone models. The iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro are faster and better than ever. They have a new design and cameras for professionals. The iPhone Pro 11 has a wide camera with 26mm focal length and f/1.8 aperture, telephoto lens with 52mm focal length and f/2.0 aperture, and an ultra wide camera with 13mm focal length and f/2.4 aperture & 120-degree field of view.
The iPhone 11 and iPhone XS both have two cameras but the new iPhone has an ultra wide lens in place of the telephoto lens. The iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro have 3 lenses. The iPhone 11 Pro is water resistant to 4 meters for up to 30 minutes as opposed to 2m for 30 minutes for iPhone XS and iPhone 11. The battery life is up to 5 hours more than the previous generation. Here are the camera differences:
When it comes to storage, the iPhone 11 Pro and XS line are pretty similar. The cheaper iPhone 11 goes up only to 256GB. You get a lot more color options though.
Which iPhone 11 should you buy?
The new iPhones are both very capable. The iPhone 11 Pro has premium features that may not be needed by everyone. It has a starting price of $999 and can go to $1449 if you choose the 512GB Max version. The iPhone 11 Pro 512 GB version is available for $1349. The iPhone 11 with 256GB is available for only $849 though. While it doesn’t have that third camera, it still has a powerful processor, night mode, and other new features introduced in this generation. Keep in mind that the Pro line has longer battery life and premium screen but is that worth the extra cost? Maybe not for everyone.
The good news is if you have an iPhone XS Max from last year, you can get up to $600 when you trade it in.[HT]
