iPhone 5 vs. iPhone 4S vs. Older iPhones: Camera Comparison

The iPhone brand has come a long way over the years. Many of you who were following the device when it was launched are aware of the transformation these phones have gone through in every new generation. The older iPhones did have cameras but we can’t say their quality was great. The folks behind Camera+ have compared the iPhone 5 camera against previous iPhone cameras to show how much better it is quality-wise.

Photo comparisons were done in three situations: well-lit macro setting, skyline shot, and candle lit low light macro setting. Photos have been put together side-by-side so you can see the differences. The differences are quite stunning when you compare the original iPhone camera to the iPhone 5 camera. They are slightly harder to spot when you compare newer iPhones against one another.

The iPhone 5S is going to have an even better set of cameras. How much better it will perform in these situations remains to be seen.
