Solar-Powered iPhone Coming? New iPods on Video

Many of us have been dying to see what new ideas Apple is working on to take the current iPhones and iPads to the next level. The idea of solar-powered smartphones is not new. Apple already has the patents related to this idea. Now that the iPhone 5S has a fingerprint scanner, we could see Apple focus on solar technology to make its iPhones even more useful. Apple’s new job listing suggests the company is looking for candidates with experience in solar technology.

As Apple Insider has covered, the position seems to deal with the application side of R&D. Just because Apple is looking for candidates who know their stuff when it comes to solar technology, it does not mean we will see a solar iPhone 6. In fact, we will likely have to wait a few years before this idea turns into a real product.

It is too early to think about bendable or solar iPhones and iPods. Apple is going to start shipping the new iPhones soon. The iPod family did not get an upgrade but will receive a new color option: Space Gray. Apple already tells you on its website the new color options available for the iPods. We are not entirely sure the new color is a deal maker though.
