iPhone 3G Case Crackable?

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Ladies and gentlemen. iPhone’s plastic case is crackable. At least that’s what the good folks at TechTree are reporting. I guess it depends on you use your iPhone. If you put it under your car’s tires, then yes! Your iPhone will crack. But I have had mine for quite a while and it doesn’t have any blemish on it. I am not saying these guys are mistreating their iPhones, but I guess you can’t push the envelop and then complain about your “broken” iPhone. You are not buying a Tough Book guys! Here is tip if you want to break your phone. Jus sit on it. Wouldn’t that be easier?

iPhone a Gamble For Apple

iPhone is a great device, and it’s evolutionary at that. Nowadays people look for a device that does everything and Apple iPhone simply does everything (with the 3G you get the long awaited GPS also). But here is the issue: Apple’s alliance with AT&T could finally backfire on them big time.

Apple is a great company which is made famous by focusing on customer-centric design and innovation. Everything works outside the box and everything Apple seems to be working with everything else Apple. Now with the iPhone, it’s still the case. However, iPhone customers have had multiple nightmarish experiences with the whole AT&T activation process.

When iPhone 1.0 was released, I remember people who could not get their phones activated for whatever reason. At the time, people could find a way around the issue and unlock the phone. I am sure someone will figure the same thing out with iPhone 2.0 However, many are complaining about the whole mess that is AT&T activation. Apple and AT&T want to force you to get a contract and activate the hard way, but if the server is down or if the system is not ready for prime time, then you are left with a lot of people who have a shiny device that doesn’t allow them to do what they paid for it to do, making calls. I am sure the whole issue will be addressed by Apple, but who do you make your mad customers happy? Giving them more AT&T experiences?

iPhone Apps Kill Productivity

It’s true. There is no science or data behind it yet (unless you are willing to help out), but there is no question that iPhone 1.0 did reduce employees productivity in the first couple of months. Let’s say you are in your cubicle, and all alone. It’s not exactly a fast day and the shiny iPhone is sitting on your desk. You’ve just gotten it and even though have played with it for a couple of days, you still want to explore it even more. Let’s face it. You love your iPhone.

Now the dumbest thing to do at this moment is to answer that new e-mail that you just got about work. What you should do is pick up that iPhone and play with it for a couple of hours. Everybody does that at work. Employers know it, so it’s not wrong! Play with it till lunch and then you’ll have plenty of time to do some work after.

Now this may sound wrong to you, but I personally have been in some boring positions where you basically sit and do nothing for a day or two or maybe week before there is more work. But thanks to iPhone 3G and the new App store, you can pretty much burn days and months on different Apps and love doing it. By the way, who says wasting time is not fun. Go to App store and find out for youself.

iPhone to Make The Slow Financial Industry Up Their Efforts!

There are two things certain in life. One is obviously death. The other is the fact that the financial industry is the slowest sector in terms of innovation and adopting new technologies. As someone who has worked in the financial industry for quite a while, I can tell you that nothing notable gets done unless there is dollar attached to it, and once you have that dollar amount attached to it, it takes years to implement.

Now, I am not here to bash the financial industry. I think a lot of bright people work for banks and credit card companies. But the employers have not had the excuse to actually push themselves to do things faster until now. With the new iPhone out, the mobile industry is entering a new period. As mobile world becomes a normality, financial companies will have jump on the chance to attract millions of people who hold the iPhone. Imagine if you can do your Chase transaction on your iPhone like you do on your laptop. I do get the whole check your balance thing that Chase has, but having an iPhone App would be a couple of steps up. A lot of other companies don’t even have a mobile presence, but they can suddenly jump to the forefront by tackling the iPhone market.

An app such as WebBank can make a slow mover to the mobile industry look very impressive to potential customers. Apple has been kind enough to provide the opportunity for the financial industry to jump on the iPhone bandwagon. But will the banks and credit card companies step up? That remains to be seen!

How was your experience with the iPhone stores?

The iPhone 3G is up for sale, and not everything went smoothly for Apple and AT&T this past Friday. I heard a few people had to wait for more than a few hours due to a glitch with the activation process. Then there was the whole MobileMe issue.

So if you have gotten your iPhone already, how’s been your experience with the new iPhone? How tough was it to get your hands on it?
