iPhone 5 vs. Galaxy S4 Test, Google Now for iPhone

It should go without saying that you should not drop your phone on purpose regardless of its type. Smartphones such as the iPhone may be able to survive short drops but you are always better off getting a decent impact resistant case for your gadget. We have already seen videos showing how the iPhone is a bit tougher than the Galaxy S3 by Samsung. The folks at TechSmartt have put together a video that shows how the Galaxy S4 fares against the iPhone.

Both phones can handle short drops very well. They would take minor damage if you are lucky. Things are a bit different when you try dropping these phones from above 7 feet though. The iPhone 5 is capable of handling those kinds of drops much better than the Galaxy S4. In fact, Samsung’s phone starts to really shows its limits in more extreme drop tests. Regardless of these results, you should always consider getting a shockproof case for your phone if you intend to mistreat it.

Speaking of the iPhone 5, you can now use Google Now on it. Google has updated its Search app to bring Google Now to iOS. Google Now tells you about weather and traffic conditions. It can also update you on your favorite teams and news. Those of you who have tried Google Now on Android should know what to expect here.

In order to provide you with the latest information, Google Now needs to turn on Location Services. As the Verge has reported, many card types available on Android will now be making their way to iOS. Google Now may be a tad bit more easier to use on Android but the iOS version has a lot going for it too. The update is available on the App Store right now.
