You can look up foods in the companion app to get recommended expiration dates. The device is smart enough to send you a reminder when your food is about to expire.

You can set up the expiration date by twisting the bezel. The FoodTusker’s e-ink screen lasts over 2 months on a single charge. Even without a transparent container, this gadget that show you what’s inside and how long you have before it goes bad. The app can suggest what you can make with your leftovers.
