Apple is expected to announce to new iPad mini today. The iPad 3 will be getting the Lightning connector as well. We will know more about iBooks by the time this event is done.
1:04: a lot of talk about the products that have already been released. Very similar to previous Apple events. Over 3M iPods sold.
1:06: 200m devices running iOS 6.
1:10: $6.5b paid to developers.
1:11: 400m downloads for iBookstore.
1:15: as expected, there will be Mac news at this event.
1:17: brand new 13-inch MacBook Pro … .75 thick with Retina display
1: 21: Core i5 or i7 processors, 8 GB of RAM, 768 SSD storage.
1:28: next gen iMac
1:30: now that is super thin … 5mm edge
1:32: comes in two sizes, 27 inch and 21.5 inch. 27 inch with 2560 * 1440 resolution
1:38: 27 inch iMac stays at $1799 and ships in December
1:39: 100m iPads sold
1:44: latest iBooks Author announced.
1:48: 4th generation iPad. Finally, A6X?
1:51 PM: iPad mini. Pretty much identical to what we had seen.
1:53: 53% lighter than the iPad
1:54: 7.9 inch display
1:58: this is still a risky move by Apple. The idea of two iPads competing each other and the cheaper one winning is not what to aim for. I wonder what the margins are.
2:00: looks like the rumors were not wrong: Dual-core A5 processor, FaceTime HD camera and 5-megapixel iSight camera
2:07: Apple has been terrible in keeping secrets. Price: $329. Ships on November 2nd.
