As Double Robotics has announced, it is possible to use Double to capture 360 degree video. The 360 Camera Dolly with 360 camera mount can hold cameras up to 5 pounds. You can control the robot from your iPhone or iPod Touch.

The mount is made of aircraft-grade aluminum. It attaches to the base using a 1/4″-20 bolt. Operators can control Double wirelessly via LTE, WiFi, or Bluetooth. The full set costs you $3000 though.
