iPhone 3.0 has generated quite a buzz in the tech world. We already know a lot about the OS, and the features that we are going to get with that release. There have been a few rumors about the new models that we will see released in the summer, but until now most folks have predicted two new models for the U.S. market. But a new rumor suggests that Apple is creating only one new model for the U.S. The other model that we have been talking about is going to be developed for developing country.
If you think about it, this new rumor makes more sense. The U.S. market is different from the global market. There is no iPhone fits all here. Apple has realized the challenges of entering developing markets, which they are probably working on a model that works in those markets. The U.S. phone will probably be significantly improved. There will be a better quality web cam on it, and you can expect more memory. In order to go viral in developing countries, Apple needs to work on an affordable iPhone model, which is apparently what they are doing.
At the end of the day, Apple has to change its approach to dominate more markets. Not all markets are the same and introducing a cheap iPhone model is probably the right way to go.
