Most of us have been waiting for a while to finally get more information on iPhone 5. The device has been in the works for some time. While it is fun to think about all the iPhone 5 rumors that are going around, at some point we would love to actually see the device in action. According to AllThingsD, Apple’s next major event is scheduled for October 4th. It is the date we can expect to hear more about the company’s next generation phone. Most experts believe the phone will go up on sale a few weeks after that date (which matches the end-of-October release date rumors we have heard).

Apple’s next event may be all about the iPhone but it is significant for a whole other reason. It is the first time the new CEO, Tim Cook, gets to present the company’s top product to the world. With Steve Jobs resigning due to health issues, all eyes will be on Mr. Cook to see how he excites the fans and investors. Steve Jobs will be hard to replace. But the new CEO should get an easy start considering that so many people are excited about iPhone 5.

iPhone 5 is expected to make its way to Sprint this time around. T-Mobile won’t be getting the device in 2011 though or so it seems. In a leaked internal document from T-Mobile, chief marketing officer, Cole Broadman, suggests the new iPhone won’t be coming to his company’s network in 2011 (source: TmoNews). T-Mobile has refused to comment on the story. Apple is rumored to be work on two iPhones, so one could potentially end up on T-Mobile some time in the near future. In the meantime, T-Mobile’s status remains unclear as AT&T’s efforts to acquire the carrier have met a few obstacles.
