By now, it is no secret that Apple will go out of its way to keep the iPad 3 the king of the mountain in the tablet PC market. While the second generation iPad has been quite successful for Apple, it is the in the third generation that we expect to see more changes made to the overall design of these tablets. According to Digitimes, we would not have to wait more than a couple of months to see Apple iPad 3.
Digitimes reports Apple’s manufacturing partners have already started delivering parts and components for the iPad 3 to OEM contractors. At the same time, the production of the iPad 2 is expected to slow down in the next few months. Multiple sources put the release date for the next generation iPad sometime between March and April 2012.
We still don’t know how different the iPad 3 will look from its predecessor. The Japanese blog Macotakara is suggesting that the next iPad will have the same screen size as the current iPads but may be thicker in size:
According to Asian supplier which provides part for next iPad, next iPad has same size of screen, but case may be thicker by unknown reason. Current iPad cases, which covers backside, will not be compatible with thicker next iPad.
Also the source told, front rounding corner will be same with current iPad, then Smart Cover will be good companion with new iPad.
We have heard plenty of rumors about Apple’s struggles to put a retina display in its tablets. If the above rumor is true, we may indeed see a super high resolution screen on the iPad 3. We will find out one way or another in a few months.
