Apple Buys Speech Recognition Startup Nouvaris, Galaxy S5 vs. iPhone 5s Fingerprint Scanner

Apple’s Siri has to deal with major competition these days. Google, Microsoft, and other players are not going to give up on this market, nor will Apple. In fact, the company has bought Nouvaris, which happened to be a speech recognition startup. The firm’s top management have background working for Dragon, Nortel, and SRI, so they clearly have experience in this area.

It is not clear how fast the Nouvaris team can improve Siri. But Apple is clearly working to address Siri’s shortcomings. It seems Apple and Nouvaris have already confirmed the deal, unofficially.

iPhone 5s is not the only phone to have a fingerprint scanner. The Samsung Galaxy S5 will also allow its users to unlock their phone with the touch of a finger. They will be able to access websites and get things done without having to touch their phone.
