Apple may have not announced anything in regards to iPhone 5’s launch event yet, but we already know when the company may unveil the device. Considering that Apple’s next event happens on October 4th, there is a good chance iPhone 5 will start shipping a few weeks thereafter. It seems Al Gore knows a whole lot more about this launch already. He is an Apple board member after all. Speaking at the Discovery Invest Leadership Summit, the former VP had this to say:
Not to mention the new iPhones coming out next month. That was a plug
So wait. Are we talking about one iPhone or multiple ones? At this point, it is not clear what he was referring to. Many experts have indicated that we may see 2 new iPhones this year. Apple is notoriously secretive when it comes to its new product launches. We are not sure what to think of this leak (unless it is not a leak and only a general comment by Mr. Gore). Will we see two new iPhones in October? That’s hard to say from the above statement.
You can have the best phone on the market. Without secure software, it could expose your sensitive information to the world. Skype is a service used by a significant number of iPhone owners. It seems the software has a security hole that would allow attackers to send messages with malicious code. The vulnerability enables hackers to steal files that Skype can gain access to, including your contact book.
Hackers can exploit the “Full Name” field in Skype to inject code into iPhones and gain access to their file systems. The victims won’t know their information is stolen, which makes this exploit quite dangerous. At this point, there is no easy way for Skype users to protect themselves (other than avoid using the app). According to multiple sources, Skype will have this patched up in its next release.
