There has been a lot of talk about Verizon getting the iPhone next. Apparently, Apple’s contract with AT&T makes sure that the carrier gets to sell Apple’s product first. But since the exclusivity clause is gone, it is only a matter of time before Apple brings the iPhone to a new carrier. Many of us have wanted that carrier to be Verizon. Unfortunately, after months of dealing with rumors, it does not seem Apple and Verizon are any closer to getting Verizon iPhone done. The trouble is, many iPhone fans are not too happy about the quality of service offered by AT&T over its network. As experts have claimed, there is no reason to believe Verizon can handle iPhone any better.
T-Mobile was rumored to be close to getting the iPhone a while ago. That did not pan out as experts expected it. According to Kaufman Bros, T-Mobile is a better fit for Apple as it uses the same network technology as AT&T. Considering that Apple is not interested in developing multiple models of iPhone at this time (for different carriers), this does not sound too far-fetched.
While the general consensus is around Verizon (which we believe will happen eventually) we continue to believe that T-Mobile USA is the most likely candidate given its use of similar cellular technology (to) AT&T.
Apple is going to need to get on as many networks as possible to keep up with Android phones in the near future. The company may not want to rush into things. Nevertheless, giving customers options when it comes to choosing a carrier for iPhone makes sense. It does not hurt that T-Mobile is desperate enough to go out of its way to get its hands on the iPhone.
It is too easy to be critical of AT&T and its service. The company promises further investments in infrastructure to address some of the issues its customers have had to deal with. While there is no guarantee that T-Mobile or Verizon will do any better with iPhone, it never hurts for iPhone fans to have options.
Your choice: Verizon or T-Mobile?
