Those of you who were hoping to get your hands on those slick, white iPhone 4 units will have to have some patience. Apple has some of the best gadgets on the market. The company has no trouble creating the iPad and making slick devices such as Macbook Air. It just don’t seem to be able to deliver the white iPhone. White iPhones were expected to show up in June and July. Now they won’t be here till at least Spring 2011.
We’re sorry to disappoint customers waiting for the white iPhone again,
said Apple spokeswoman Trudy Muller. The excuse? Apparently, manufacturing white slick phones is more difficult than making black shiny ones. The Inquirer does not buy the company line. White Apple gadgets have discolored due to the heat coming from inside them. Apple can’t afford to ship a phone that could turn yellow in some areas in a short period of time.
The white iPhones made an appearance in Apple store’s iPhone application. All signs point to the fact that Apple was ready to release white iPhones to the market soon. It is tough to speculate what went wrong in the last minute (other than the heat issue).
We’re aware of this issue and we will deliver a fix to customers as part of the iOS 4.2 software update in November
Don’t we all just love waiting for Apple patches and new products?
